What is the Parivahan Seva portal?
Parivahan Seva (parivahan.gov.in) is the official Government of India portal for all transport-related services. You can apply for driving licences, register vehicles, book fancy numbers, pay fees, check application status, and access various RTO services — all online.
Can I apply for a driving licence completely online?
The application, document upload, fee payment, and slot booking are all done online through the Parivahan portal. However, you'll still need to visit your local RTO for the driving test and biometric verification. Our guides walk you through every step.
What documents do I need for vehicle registration?
You typically need the sale certificate, insurance certificate, PUC certificate, address and identity proof, and Form 20. The exact requirements vary by vehicle type and state. Check our vehicle registration guide for a detailed, state-wise checklist.
How does the fancy number auction work?
After registering your vehicle, you can bid for a VIP or choice number through the Parivahan portal's online auction system. Numbers are categorised by price tiers and you place bids within a set time window. The highest bidder wins. Our guide covers the full process including bidding strategies.
Is Parivahan Guide affiliated with the government?
No. Parivahan Guide is an independent resource created by Rahul Yadav to simplify the process of using the official Parivahan Seva portal. We are not affiliated with the Government of India or any RTO. All our guides are based on publicly available information and first-hand experience.
